Pearl Roundabout: Before
This is the famous Pearl Roundabout, or Lulu Roundabout, or officially GCC Roundabout. Its built in the form of a trophy upholding a pearl. There are six arms in this monument, signifying the six brotherly arab states, that form the [GCC]
Pearling was the major industry in Bahrain before the 1930's, boats from Manama, Muharraq, al-Hidd, and other towns on the Bahrain coast set out for the main oyster banks in the Arabian Gulf, to the east of the islands, during a season that lasted from June through September.
