I had an unusual visitor to my bird feeder this week. I have never had a mockingbird eat at my feeder before but we had several days of snow and I guess this little fellow was hungry. He adopted my feeder as his own birdie buffet but was so busy trying to chase off (unsuccessfully I might add) all of the other birds that I don't think he got much food inside of him. Such a cheeky little fellow! =D

Just a bit of whimsy with which to start the weekend. =D

I was taking pictures of cardinals in the snow and this was among the ones I took. It was not my best shot by far as he was looking straight at the camera but I loved the way he looked like a drop of blood or a tongue of fire (the little legs at the bottom gave the shot some comedy).

I was out this morning tending to the birds and the pets. As I headed back into the house I got a good shot of this saucy jay going after the seed. I thought in made a pretty winter scene so I added some color and bokeh and voila!
