Light and dark

    Newer Older

Sorry, still no bright colours or bokeh for you today. I'm all about the dramatic, sculptural light and shadow at the moment. I grew up looking at art books and two of my favourite artists were Rembrandt and Vermeer mostly for the quality of light in their works. I am still drawn to this type of image.

Jane Anastasia Studio, teacup mosaics, empressofdirt, Green Wellies, and 3 other people added this photo to their favorites.

I love both and this sound stuffy, though I'm not stuffy, I actually have a copy of an old man , a tailor, that was painted by Vermeer - the copy was painted by my aunt in New York City who was an artist. She has long since passed away, she painted it for me (she had asked what I had wanted painted) and signed the back and it hangs in a gilt frame in my dining room.

Your rooster has the light and the feel with the wooden ladder and the warmth of the wood. And Hermione - Mr. Fluffy is posed so perfectly again:)). It's really well done. Love it.
