Tatsuya Nakadai are equally perfect in the role of an young police inspector (High and Low 1963), and in the role of Shingen Takeda (Kagemusha 1980).

I especially like the movies where the Nakadai hero confronts the hero of Mifune.(Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Sword of Doom and others) And, of course, "Kwaidan" (Yuki-Onna episode) and "Ran". But most great and dramatic episode for me is a deadly duel from "Samurai Rebellion".

I think Seven Samurai is not so good film... as others of Kurosawa, I mean (a bit overestimate).
My favorites of this director are: Rashomon, Kumonosu jo (these two are perfect in every sense), Yojimbo, Ikiru and Yoidore tenshi (for me, this one is very underestimate).

You can see my votings on some films here, if you're interested.
And you can join the site and I will add you as friend, for to see what you recommend to me and to recommend I to you. :)))

Wow. You are a serious admirer of Kurosawa. I partly agree with you. Some of episodes of Seven Samurai seem a little bit obsolete and naive, perhaps exaggerated emotional. But, nevertheless, this film is piercingly realistic (characters, battle scenes, landscapes, etc.) and there is a great camera work (as always with Kurosawa) Rashomon is absolutely perfect. Kumonosu jo (Throne of Blood) is one of my favorite films ever (and the best version of "Macbeth" in my opinion). Yojimbo too. I also very much love the "High and Low", "Sanjuro", and "Kagemusha".

In the "Throne of Blood", a grim, surrealistic meeting Taketoki Washizu and Yoshiaki Miki with a witch-foreteller is especially impressed.

Thank you. I'm very glad you wrote the comment. My poster is not matter, just important to recall of two great actors. Many modern historical blockbusters look ridiculously in comparison with they samurai dramas of 50-60s.
