These mums were planted in the fall last year, 2010.
They ran their course and the flowers faded.
Rather than tossing them out, I kept them alive and tended to them over the winter. I thought there was a chance they could bloom again. There were naysayers. There was skepticism. But I had hope.
When spring arrived, there was growth!
But the growth was tested by a very hot and dry summer. Which required even more tending.
Finally, this fall, 2011, there were blooms again! And this is what you see above.
Don't give up hope!
