This morning I had a terrible scare. Tiki was not in the house when I
woke up and after calling for him off and on for over an hour and a
half , it was time for me to leave for work. As I turned the car off
of my street onto the main road I noticed a small black animal laying
on the side of the road. My heart immediately sank and as I drove
closer to it there was no doubt it was a black cat with a white spot
on it's chest. I went into instant panic mode... OK Absolute
Hysterics!!! There is nowhere to pull over on the side of this street
so I turned the car around and parked the car in front of my house. I
ran into the house and woke up my son to assist me in retrieving Tiki
from the side of the road. My poor son was so sweet as tried to
console his hysterical mother. He told me to stay in the house and he
would go get the cat. He was gone for less then a minute and walked
back through the front door with Tiki strutting in front of him!!!!
Tiki was ALIVE!!!!!
I am so thrilled! I thought that was him dead on the side of the road. Unfortunately some other cat was not as lucky.......
The strange thing is that after about one hour recomposing myself I again left for work and the black cat on the side of the road was gone.....
For now on Tiki is going to be a totally inside cat like he was the first 3 years of his life. I just have no idea how I will successfully keep him inside. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
