Hektor Mamet sees the chessboard as a universe much like our own with infinite possibilities. In this piece a proposal has been made for a chessboard reduced only to parallel worlds, where Rooks move across the board back and forwards without ever making contact with each other, resulting in a chessboard that is impossible to play.
