Well, having been an active Flickr user a long time ago, I basically dropped off the face of the earth. I went back to uni as a post grad, which was strange considering I'm turning 30 next year and thought I was past all that essay-writing, Converse-wearing stuff. (Well okay, not the Converse-wearing stuff - I shall wear them into my 80s, but you get the drift.) So now, with the course finished and more time to actually eat and sit down once in a while, I'm back.

The slideshow above is day one of a week of university strangeness. We put on a Cinderella's Ball complete with decoration, acting, dance, filming, social networking and blogging. This is especially odd because my course was in education and not in event management or anything to do with performing arts or media. Very random really, but A LOT of fun! The slideshow, then, is the first day of preparations for the Ball. Predictably, as the photographer, I'm not in any of these shots... which is probably a good thing since everyone on my course was quite a bit younger and fresher than me!

I am a people photographer, primarily, but I have removed almost all of my portraits from my stream. Two reasons: one is I am considering keeping most of my family photos off my Flickr stream (thanks for that, Orkut), and the other reason is I figure I might as well start afresh and some of those photos dated back to about 4 years ago.

Since I was last active on Flickr, most of my Flickr friends have left. Hey, life happens. But assuming I can find the time to come on here more regularly, I hope to make some new ones ;-)

I took 4 months off from photography a while ago and when I went to do some shooting at a fancy dress party I found I had forgotten just about EVERYTHING! I think life on the post-grad front is going to get a bit quieter so I'm going to try to squeeze in a bit more shooting now... To cheer myself up since I've been so non-stop busy lately, I persuaded (translates as 'forced') my other-half to buy me this new lens, yay!

Can't quite remember what I processed this with, but possibly Punch-Up and I Fake Film (I use IFF on literally every picture.)

(I just upgraded to the 7D and I love it - even if it will take me 10 years to read the 250 page manual!)

Taken on the South Pier at Blackpool. Used a Les Brumes texture for this. I love his stuff.

Feeling a bit like a zombie at the moment. Getting over a bad head cold (I'm not a man, so I won't claim it was the flu) and feel like all mental capacity has deserted me. (No change there then, I hear you cry, Zimmergimmer.)
