Day Ninety Seven

97/365. if somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied ~ Spiderman (2002)

Another selfy where I get to fit right into the neighborhood. I couldn't just get a spiderman mask and put it down after a day... so I went out and got another.

So today I received my Manfrotto 6' retractable portable light stand which is totally awesome because it fits in my standard sized backpack. This is fantastic! It allows me to take a full strobist setup on-the-go carrying a stand, umbrella, speedlight, tripod, and my camera. The only thing that really weighs me down now is my stubby.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Let's make it thru the rest of the week now. Techies read on...

strobist and camera info: see here.

Heh, so did you hear someone yell out your name around 9pm? That was me. I was driving by (on the way to El Metate, best tacos ever), and spied The Stubby, and totally knew you had to be around there somewhere.

  41. Dustin Diaz (38 months ago | reply)

Trig::Photographie: Thanks dude! Glad to get an lol here and there.

    C. Strife: the shirt, the mask, the everything, they all aligned. to answer your other question — no, i don't have the 135 ƒ/2, nor do I exactly plan on it. I've read enough about it, and planning on what I would use it for, I already have the 85mm ƒ/1.4D that will do mostly the same things.

iceman9294: i don't really have a spiderman fettish. i just picked a mask off the shelf because it was funny. each of these quotes i had to search hard for. besides, even if it was a fetish, showing it thru photos would be a fantastic way to show my friends :)

    imagine*life: yes, nerdy spidey :)

ThePurpleCrayon: hahahaha. great connection between spider and the web!

josh teague: ya, this thing gets the sweetest bokeh i've ever seen.

Shutta.... David: hahaha. that'd be awesome... "hey, there's the spider guy taking pictures of himself again!" haha.

Onitsuka YUSUF: of course now you're in the know :)

    chlip: thanks man!

siliconmonkey: yeah, i don't mind it so much. it's not as bad as you'd think. just gotta ignore them, or chat with the ones who walk up to you.

    204studios: thanks

LeftyAsian: first thing is, I used 3/4 CTO gel to color correct the entire exposure color balance (WB). and those shoes, are naturally that color. in post i decreased saturation just a tad.

    asilva: SPIDERMAN! Of course :)

    jef cris: :)

Søren Horsbøll Hansen: yeah, he's friendly :) everyone loves the neighborhood spidey.

    Umair Ashfaq: thanks.

millan p. rible: cool man. thanks.

jonnoj ~busy~: hello again! happy wednesday.

Tiago • Ribeiro: night is a great time to shoot.

    juliusfrumble: wha?

    ButchCausing: cool. thanks.

pat2757k: of course man. someone earlier in the comments already made the spider -> web connection :)

moionet: hahahha. so true! he just gave up and decided to become part of regular society.

    V.I.D.S: hahaha. awesome!

Eric M Martin: it's not a rolling bag... it's just a standard back pack (like the kind your wear in school). That's why the new light stand is so great, because it fits in it!

    szabi.zsoldos: sweet man. thanks.

    Lightning Lee: cool. thanks.

Michael Speelman: hey man. thanks again.

Tala--: whoa hey. thanks tala :)

    toleman.hart: thanks.

songsalways: haha. glad all the things came together for you :) — those were all things i was going for.

    Maciek Lesniak: cool thanks.

Vitaliy P.: my eyes are always on my stuff. the actual "photo taking" portion only lasts about a minute. It's the setup that generally takes about 5 minutes... along with another 3 for tear down.

bossnas: see the strobist info photo. also, have you used a pocket wizard? they sit on the camera and the flash... you don't actually hold them.

    Dirk65: wooo..

Ay Naku!: hi, i politely declined. but thanks :)

    ~*Patti*~(cmuart82): sweet, thanks.

d.davis: yeah, actually, a secret, the google t-shirt was on accident... that's just what i wore to work that day :/

Adrian World - Rethink Flickr!!!: thank you.
