Not only does natural lighting improve mood, it also helps reduce energy usage. Our small office is fortunately fitted with two large windows on one wall. Also, we furnish our recessed lighting with Energy Star CFL's. Although Led lighting is better, they are more expensive.

How about that, clever use of old newspaper! Last Christmas, I re-purposed some newspaper as gift wrappers instead of buying. I brushed clean one side, and spray painted the other side mutely so the original print still shows. I added synthetic leaves (from Michael's stores), and holiday trinkets and ribbons I've collected as an added touch!

I used to collect and recycle newspapers back in grade school. Although we don't hear of paper drives anymore, I still carry the habbit of collecting them. In the office, it serves as a pile of 'recycled' art for now ..until it finds another purpose.

Everytime we get paper and envelope stock samples in the mail, and we can't find use for them yet, they get 'filed' neatly in our stackable paper sorter. Each stack is labeled (using Brother label maker) as photo paper, linen, bond or printed stationary. We then use it as scratch paper, to write 'thank-you notes' on or to print invoices with.

Old documents, junk mail and other scratch paper sources get piled in paper sorters. We can just grab them easily for quick note taking. Easy!
