Another water splash shot this time taken with the cocktail glass tilted at an angle and the water coloured with food colouring. I used a tripod/light stand with a plastic ruler attached then fixed a hyperdermic needle (without the needle) to try to aim the droplets in the same place. Using a remote shutter release and dropping the water at the exact time was tricky. I used a slave speedlite flash on the left just slightly behind the subject, fired at 1/6 power, and made a snoot to fit the flash gun out of black cardboard, plus a small reflector on the right made out of tin foil, and with an additional sheet of black card as background. Altogether rather more preparation this time to get it all to sync ok. Finally polished in Photoshop.

Another flame shot with a red pepper. Flames were made with lighter fluid (not Photoshop) and the shot was taken against a black card background. Taken with one remote slave speedlite. I still cannot decide whether I should have removed the flash highlights on the pepper. I leave you to decide!

Another shot from my snow walk. This one shows the desolate dormant state of all the trees and plants, covered in snow, waiting for spring to come. This was originally shot as wide angle but I cropped to isolate the tree against a great sky.

Consisting of two exposures combined in Photomatix Pro to make an enhanced HDR image.

Took a walk after yesterdays snow fall before all the snow trekkers appeared. The sun was just trying to break out, catching the branches of the trees, and I didn't know whether to wait or not for a better shot.
This was a composite of 3 images converted to HDR in Photomatix Pro.
