Wooo, that is a really great shot. It's the kind of image that you know somebody worked really hard to create. However, I think the large blown out lens flair actually distracts from the really cool part of the picture. Might be nicer with that cropped out?

+ Interesting subject with creative theme.
      - Personally, I think the light is just a tad intense.

Very interesting effect, a creative use of digital manipulation. It would be interesting to see the original image. So that's what time travel for the terminator looks like before they're dumped out all naked in L.A., eh?

    11. Presleyjesus (74 months ago | reply)

Not for me. I don't like magenta tones, and I don't see deeper meaning in a metaphor like "the athlete in the embryonic sphere".
Still, I think photography nowadays needs Photoshop, so go on manipulating and tweaking as much as you can.

I think this is terrific. I like the purple, and the light, and the pose - it's interesting, and original, and that's more than enough to make me happy!

Thanks for the feedback to the IWANT5 folks and others,

About the intense light. That's part of the idea. I'm trying to create something dramatic here. Too bright? Maybe, that's a matter of taste.

      Jesus,
I actually expected more responses of the kind you submitted. This is because there really is no deep meaning in this shot. During a studio workshop I just got the idea to recreate the Terminator's time travel. OK, it's part of a story but people may have varying opinions about how much meaning there is in it. I however see the Terminator movies as sci-fi rather than action. Why magenta? I originally had something electrical blue in mind but this color range happend to work well with the model's hair. :)

interesting treatment, not sure what is happening (not a bad thing)
the light source here seems very harsh, the bubble surface has some strange effect over the leg section which seems incongruous with the rest of the scene
Its contrived nature doesn't appeal to me, but that almost seems to be its raison-d'etre, can't really deduct for that.

From the MiRea's Realm Group, you are given a 5/7 ranking.

    26. Micke-fi (74 months ago | reply)

The effect you see on the leg is perfectly normal for the surface of soap bubbles. :) I cloned out a lot of stuff on the surface but felt that I loose the feeling of a sphere if I go all the way.

This is an interesting picture though I admit to not really understanding it, either technically or conceptually. But it makes me wonder. How did you do it? Perhaps I'm just naive. It seems (as noted by someone else) like an animation, and I know that it's been thoroughly manipulated, but I still don't know where to begin with it. Your comment about the soap bubbles helps me with one thing I couldn't figure out, but there are others. Even so, it looks good and I can't think of how it could be improved technically.

From the MiRea's Realm Group, you are given a 6.5/7 ranking.

This is one that I frankly do not know how to rate. I can appreciate the effort that goes into making such a shot. But such contrived photography does not appeal to me in the slightest. Therefore, I can't really say whether this is a good or a bad result.

Oh boy! He forgot to be born. Light up is to strong for me, it is difficult to judge because I don't know when the manipulation beguin, neverless you put something interesting here, 5/7 from MiRea's Realm group.

The figure and the bubble is wonderful. Gives a feeling of maybe capturing rebirth.Very emotive. Its wonderfully sharp and clear. For me the light source top left is very distracting and really takes a way from the beautiful bubble . This would be stunning if you could crop it.If you had just shown the figure in the bubble this would have been a certain 7.

Thanks to all and especially the critical and sharp-eyed folks in MiRea's Realm. I got more valuable feedback on this one. So many seem to have a problem with the bright light that I should consider changing it, even if I think it is important for the wholeness. I decided to make a quick draft without it. The light and much of the atmosphere is actually created by one single gradient layer that goes from bright white towards transparency and purple. I have removed that layer and adjusted some other layers' tones to match the new color scheme. I think myself that this dosen't work well becuse much of the model's ligting is built around a big bright light in the upper left. So I consider this a draft, but maybe something to keep working on. Thanks all.
