Pillow of Snow

We had a massive downfall of snow last night and this was what I woke up to this morning in my garden. The sun's out now though so I'm not sure it will be around for long.

Versions of this pic have been done a few times by various people - the one's I can immediately think of are Chiie and Rosie Hardy who both did much better jobs than me!

Yep it was freezing but I always find that once your adrenalin kicks in you don't really feel it :0)

Mad_pirate - I thought you'd already had snow up there? I'm hoping we get some more because this lot is melting now.

Just want to re-iterate that this has been done before... quite a few times. But I love the idea and just wanted to give it a try myself. I'll try and do something more original in the snow before it melts away :0)

EVERYTHING you see on flickr will have been done before I'm pretty sure. Chiie, Rosie Hardy , whoever... They probably saw it from a photograph done 50 years ago... or saw it as a painting... or drawing... or cartoon on TV... People get their inspirations from all around.

So don't beat yourself up about re-doing an idea.The important thing is to give it a twist to make it your own...

Yeh, I agree with Tony too but flickrites can also over-react in a major way when you don't fully credit other people's ideas... that they took from other people... who took it from someone else. So I just thought I'd better make it VERY clear.

wow lush!! I think it's fair enough to credit an idea even if it's been copied many times, just because it's nice to say who inspired you....and it's not like you don't have plenty of original ideas of your own...who cares if some are versions of stuff you've already seen?

If it snows I will probably try and do some sort of version of this....haha! And i'll credit YOU since I've seen neither of the others ;)

There are many of us who have only seen snow(in person) a handful of times in our lives and usually had to travel to get to it at that.
I guess you will have to teach Missy to use the pillow and blanket instead of shoving her face in the snow :)
