Surprise Motif - Motif Surprise

Surprise Motif - Motif Surprise

Well, some sort of game I came up with: Photo buddy Michele presented me with these three things (very kind, thanks a bunch again!) -- sort of a surprise egg, something to play, and chocolate and a surprise.

Then I thought, as some sort of appreciation for the presents, but mainly for the fun of it, I could shoot these things ... and so I did (and really had fun with that, see results below).

And then I thought, how about a photo club meeting and everyone brings some funny objects (quantity = members of the group) and everyone has to shoot the things and then, at the next meeting, one could compare the results? I am 98 % sure that this is a lot of fun!! (at least for photogs :-). What do you think of that?

Here are my results:

NICER VIEWING
View On Black

STROBIST
Two speedlites, one with snoot from left-above , one bare, flagged, with blue gel to the background. Paper reflector on the right side. All flashes RF-triggered with YN-602. Camera on tripod, triggered via cable release.

NOTES
Took me some tries to get a nice splash without my lightbarrier. Actually it took all of the Milka pralinees to get two nice splashes. Anyway, it's faster to do splashes this way, because setting up the light barrier can be a real pain in the butt. ;-)

THANX SO MUCH FOR EXPLORE #68, I really appreciate it!

Strobist
One speedlight, rf-triggered via YN-602, laying on the table, shooting through the paper cylinder and -- "feathered" -- on the white seamless background. Tricky thing about this shot was, to let the flash hit the paper cylinder (for the light from below ) and the background (for the rim -- see note in the result image -- and for a white background).
