Happily taxed until the start of March 2013, this was an unexpected find whilst walking around an area I had been to before. I had actually stopped walking next to a fairly old MKVI Escort and taken my camera out to snap this, without realising that two old men were sat in the Ford, who then assumed I was taking a photo of them! I quickly informed them (with hand signals, for some reason) that this was what I had actually trained my camera on to and they almost breathed a sigh of relief... whoops!
Quite nice to see what is possibly a rolling resto, you rarely see these when compared to the much more common Dolomite these days.

Utterly mental, I knew this one had been laid up a while but 19 years?! How on earth did this only last 8 years on the road? Presumably either owned by a loved one who passed away or with some other seriously strong emotional attachment....

Happily this has been taxed into 2013, which means it has now survived 30 years on the road, which is a staggering amount of time for any commercial vehicle, this is certainly the oldest LT I have seen for some time, even more so considering it isn't a campervan version too. I bet it continues to be incredibly useful to the current owner, I get the feeling the person who runs the battered older Renault 4 I uploaded recently also has use of this...

An incredibly well kept example considering the cars well known reputation at the time for rusting in a terminal fashion without much effort, there is a few signs on the doorbottoms of this one suggesting it may need looking at soon. Quite a few scuff marks on the bumpers and a few dents here and there too, this just aids my theory that the owner may still be the original, but is that really possible now..?
