      pretty!

gooseberries are really sour! i would use them to give a sour kick to something that's overly sweet. what, i don't know!

When ripe, they are sweet inside but the skin is still kind of sour. We have them in our garden and I always used to pick them straight off the bush and bite a hole in the berry and suck out the sweet juicy innards.

Gooseberries are one of my favourites, I love them as they are ripe, red and fresh from the bush or green in jam or tarts :)

Gooseberry fool! Just cook 'em with a little sugar until they become saucy then, when they are cool, fold them into whipped cream and serve in pretty glasses. My favorite.
