Alsharquie Area.
16 year-old Mohammed Mahdi was working as an apprentice in an auto
shop when he reached for an
engine part on the floor. He touched a tiny cluster bomblet that was
next to the part. The explosion blew off half of his hand and burned
his body. He was taken to the hospital in Nabatiyeh. As the oldest son
of a farming family, Mohammed’s future employment was to be a crucial
source of cash income.
