The front cover of a 38 page Grand Trunk Pacific Steamships brochure printed in April 1915. The brochure describe the ships, the routes and the cities visited. For a trip from Vancouver or Victoria to Prince Rupert was $18.00 for a one-way trip, meals and berth.

Prior to BC Ferries the Canadian Pacific Railway operated the British Columbia Coast Steamship Service to various Vancouver Island, Washington State and northern BC Ports. This schedule shows the Vancouver Island routes.

An article in the Legion Magazine in January 2007 contains the following information:

Built in 1928 the LADY DRAKE operated on the Halifax to Bermuda, St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua, Montserrat, Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent, Grenada, Trinidad and British Guyana before returning by the same route to Saint John, N.B.

On May 8, 1942, while on the final leg of a homeward journey between Bermuda and Halifax, she was torpedoed. Luckily, the ship sank slowly. While 12 people lost their lives, 260 made it to five lifeboats.

Three schedules from 1947, 1959 and 1971. Both the railway and the service are now long gone.
