There's beauty in the unsightly.

I dislike how Flickr desaturates photos. The crazy rain has finally ceased, so I can take pictures outside! So happy :). I did an interview for Bruna's blog. You can find it here.

It's been raining a lot, and that makes me sad. This was taken on one of the rare days that the clouds decided to hold onto their tears.

Please view this in lightbox as the white background makes it look quite unflattering (too dark- :()

I'm both pleased and proud of the effort here. Is it my best photo? Certainly not. Could I have done a better job? Considering the 6 months that elapsed without picking up a camera and editing, no. I put my everything into this, from the uncomfortable pose (I'm still sore...) to the editing. I found myself making silly mistakes which I would not have done mid last year. I see this as a beginning of sorts (I've had quite a few of those since taking up photography, ha). This was inspired by "Unravel" by Bjork, but I particularly love Jason Mraz's cover. It's a literal interpretation in ways, but aaah, it's good to be back. :)

**Also inspired by red yarn photos. Brooke Shaden's and Alex Stoddard's are the two that come to mind.

To those who still wander to this part of Flickr:

A clean portrait for my first post of 2012. Last year wasn't as fulfilling photographically as I had hoped. I couldn't even complete the 52 photos a year challenge. Rather than list reasons/excuses, it's a new year and a fresh start. I've missed being activity involved in this community. Here's to a year of creativity and creation!
