I love my serger for knits, so I have resisted making this t shirt, but I am so glad I finally did because I love the way this shirt is made! I used a variety of hemp knits to make the shirt, and added a free motion embroidered pick-up truck to the front. The embroidery doesn't show up as much as I would like, but my son is quite happy with it.

I think the orange thread is the same value as the grey, so the embroidery doesn't show up too well. The design was just a clip art image I found online.

I made this for my son's 3rd birthday (well I made it a week late, but he will be 3 for an entire year). I used a cotton shirting for the main shirt, and a quilting cotton for the inner collar. I freemotion embroidered the pedal car using a free pattern from Ottobre. The shirt is the easy linen shirt from "Sewing for Boys".

I added insulbrite to the main body as well as interfacing in an effort to make it more insulated.
