Another from the archives. From November 2010, during golden evening sunlight.

I've had my reservations about this one. Okay, so tell me what you think about this. I want to know your honest opinions. How could this have been better? The colors, the light, the composition? Too much out of focus? Too much bokeh? Weird colors? Just plain boring?

No need for a dissertation, just a concise thought or 2, if you wish.

Thanks.... :)

Try this on BLACK.

Another from the archives, taken back in May 2010, yet never saw the light of Flickr until now. This candid grab was on an afternoon stroll before sunset. .

Okay, yeah, I know, I've been putting out a lot of flowery images lately... Eh, but I think it's cool anyway. :)

In the last few days, I've been able to spend some special moments outside. Which brings be to yearn to do whatever it takes to spend more time outside in nature. Sunday, I was able to go exploring in the woods with my camera. It was so cathartic, so wonderful. I've GOT to get outside more!

What? It's only Tuesday Wednesday (<-- see shows how much I need a break)? :)

Something simple, something minimal.

Truth is, I was messing around with some ideas yesterday, and they were pretty weak-- well, really, my efforts were pretty weak. Sometimes when the weekend comes (especially if it's rainy), I get into this ultra-lazy condition.... (But at least I folded all my laundry) :D So after all that, I decided to go into the vault and pull out some items from the past. Pleasantly suprised, I did find some interesting things. Sooooooooo, unless I get the mega spark of creativity sometime this week (yeah right) or extra time (ha ha ha.....yeah...), I'll be bringing out some "new" shots from the archives.... :)

Try this on a black background.... it has a different feel. ;)

...let it burn, let it consume, spread it around...

55 matches in the shape of a heart, on a wood floor.

For me, this was a bit of a stretch in imagination. I'm not a big Valentines day celebrator, but this gave be the opportunity to try something different than what I would do otherwise. Even though I've seen variations of the heart/matches setup, I wanted to approach it in my own personal, unique way. And there's 2 things that I really enjoy in photography: bokeh and light. I'll admit, it's not technically perfect, but I like the feel of this nonetheless.....

Lighting setup: natural ambient light and the flame from one match. Natural bokeh patterns from the match sticks (it gives me ideas). :) And, I'm really starting to like this sort of candle/flame light photography. :)

It's amazing I had time to sit down on the wood floor and play with matches. The setup took about 10 minutes.

Thanks to everyone for the time they took to stop by the last photo. :)

Thanks to all for the support on the last photo. :)

The weather has been, um, special this year. We haven't yet had a lick of snow stick to the ground. We've had a few flurries back in early January, but that was it. I mean, I guess, I should be happy, I don't know. It feels like fall, or spring... walking outside with a t-shirt (but keeping a light hoodie close)...not sure what happened to winter. So after all the magnificent colors of fall all turned to brown and dead, we're left with blah.... So, now, I can appreciate snow more and the role it plays in covering up all the barren twigs. I wonder if, being February (ALREADY...wow), if there's still a chance for snow over here in the southeast.

Anyways, in a combination of trying to spend as much time outside, soaking up sunshine and really trying to find something to shoot, I stumbled upon this little rose blossom. It was tucked away in a rose bush. Much nicer when viewed large! ;)

Well, I have to start the new work week. Hope it starts off good for you. :)

......Just realized that it's been a long time since I've posted any flowers to Flickr. And to think, it would be during winter.... ha ha.
