This weeks Macro Monday's theme is "Negative Space". so I thought I'd try another food themed image. ( Mostly because I was hungry. ) Some fresh blackberries and creme fraiche. Simple and delicious.

One of the most interesting visits made during the visit to Puerto Rico was to the Cock Fighting ring. Just about a block from the hotel and a paltry spectator fee later I was in. This was a man's world no women here other than the servers. A language all it's own and as I watched the man next to me explained the rules. The roosters do not fight to the death, but after one decides it will not fight, there is a one minute timer that starts. As soon as it ticks down the match is ended. Fascinating, but brutal at times. As you can see here the intensity of the action is high.

For me this was a highlight of my visit from the standpoint of recording an event I had never experienced. I realized afterwards that I most enjoy my chickens, quietly sitting on a plate, breaded and fried.

Macro Monday's theme this week is "Twist" so I decided this would be an interesting twist on an obvious food image. OK yes the olive was huge, and my daughter has already claimed the cosmetics. ;) I like this theme and think there may be a different twist or two in the future.
