The bleak, beautiful, fragile landscape of the Spurn peninsula in December. The North Sea is to the left of the picture and the Humber Estuary to the right. The road suffered damage in the weather and tides at the end of last year and was closed to road traffic at this time. December 2011.

Nothing like a stroll by the shipping lanes to blow the cobwebs away..The Marseille registered "Phillipine" inward bound at Spurn Point. A blustery November day 2011.

This is from a 35mm neg. by the late F.Orme. It came to me as "unknown location" and it remains...unknown. I'm not at all familiar with the landscape of this area (or that I assume is the area of the picture) so I'm looking for help.
It's "under the wires" early 60's, there is a Jubilee with a very short name on what might be an excursion, there is a substantial (LNW ?) signalbox...but what interests me and what I hoped would enable me to identify the location are the buildings with the sidings of sheeted wagons to the left of the picture. Looks like a brewery..In the unlikely event that anyone is interested in both beer and railways....where might this be?

I've forgotten so much. I look through my old negs and even with stuff from 25 years ago I can barely remember the circumstances of their taking, even if I know the location. However, I remember the moment of this picture as clear as crystal. Annie is singing and playing Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door". 1984. Burngreave.
