Old Cartes de Visite ( known as "Cardomania" ).
.....Cartes de Visites were in fashion between 1850 - 1900.
..........They were albumen photo prints 3.5'' x 2.25'' mounted on
trade cards 4'' x 2.5''.
.....On reverse of above Cartes de Visites portrait - Maddison &
Co. London. N.

forget.
.....In this - as in other ways - they are the opposite of paintings.
Paintings record what the painter remembers.
