Exposing million years of Earth's history, Gooseneck State park, Utah [Explore]

One of the most impressive views of my trip: the erosion by the San Juan river and its canyon among several milion years of geological layers. The photo does not balance at all to the strong emotions caused by the view of the deep, spectacular scar in the Earth's crust. The average depth of the canyon is 1000 ft.

Uno dei panorami più impressionanti del mio viaggio: l'erosione da parte del fiume San Juan e il suo canyon attraverso centinaia di milioni di anni di strati geologici di sedimenti. La foto non rende assolutamente la potenza emotiva di trovarsi di fronte ad una così profonda e spettacolare cicatrice della crosta terrestre.
Il canyon ha una profondità media di 300 metri.
