These are the shoes inspired by a music video, from Japanese band Sakanaction's single Native Dancer.

Although not a perfect copy, these shoes are pretty much modeled after the ones in the video, with some differences in color (I wish I had more pink) and shape (but they're about the same size). These were more to test out the concept of shoes made out of lego; it's been done before, but I wanted to do it in my own way, relying heavily on the shaping of the curvy design by hinging sections and some slope usage. My original inspiration to do sneakers was schfio's design, which uses studded shaping in contrast to the building style in these. Orion Pax's shoes use a lot of slope elements which I do not have, so I had to use some tricky hinging to create the desirable shape of the shoe. Unfortunately these unorthodox connections led to many gaps and inconsistencies in my design.

Most of my models are rough drafts of sorts, so I never perfect or improve them, but I'd be real interested to see how other builders would deal with tricky shaping that's hard to achieve with standard Lego elements, especially with irregular shapes like shoes.
