Before and after euro...

This is my tribute to euro which makes travels on the European Continent so much more convenient! :-)

This is the pic that got me thinking about it

The good stuff, the still valid coins - euros - are outside the AGFA-can (a perfect storage place BTW).

Each Member State of the euro area issues euro coins featuring the national sides so we have been collecting the "euro-toonies".

I think the only one we don't have is the one from Vatican

      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican_euro_coins

which you can now buy on E-bay for more than its face-value of course!

Thanks! I hope Euro popular in Portugal.
Sweden & Denmark still resist (as does UK). -

We can easily "ignore" the Danish Crown
while driving quickly through to Sweden but then
have to exchange to Swedish Crowns.:-(

      Hah. Nice shot!

I can't imagine how much effort it must've been to convert to each specific country's currency prior to the Euro coming into effect - especially since driving from country to country is as easy as us driving to Hope, BC and back. :)

I've managed to have 95 cents left-over here as I make this comment from our Amsterdam hotel. Of course, that'll be used up to take the tram back to the Centraal Station.

Holidays are over; time to come home. Only 8 rolls of film to develop (and 3,000 digital photos to go through)
