For my brother! Finished! Finally!
The idea for this popped up last summer, when I discovered Heather Ross' Coke Travellers print. My brother has an obsession with Coca Cola, so I thought it would be neat to buy a piece and make something with it. That turned into buying a bundle of various winter/summer-themed HR scraps, buying in to Heather's studio sale, and swapping with lots of wonderful people on Flickr. It was originally meant to be a Christmas gift, but I couldn't get it done in time, and then my sewing machine broke down for a bit, and...gah.
Anyway, the front is a whole mishmash of random Heather Ross prints in sawtooth stars. I think that it was only after I started working on these that I saw some beautiful wonky stars being made, so alas. But oh well! The back are two large panels from Liesl Gibson's oliver + s City Weekend Park Ramble prints and some HR scraps. It's bound with Heather Bailey's Bijoux tiled primrose in turquoise. While binding, I was really questioning whether I chose the binding wisely, but I didn't have much time or energy left to run out and buy something else. Now that it's all washed, I think I can live with it (and my unwieldy free-motion quilting.)
I feel really accomplished!:)
