It's interesting how this largest giant sequoia compares to the largest coast redwood.
The largest coast redwood is 26 feet or 7.9 metres diameter at DBH or breast height - right up there with General Sherman.
Sherman has more wood volume, and the branches begin so high up. Lost Monarch has a complete canopy that almost touches it's toes - within 16 inches of the ground.
They look so different.
