And inspite of these words from a person no less than Winston Churchill, India as a country is celebrating her 63rd anniversary of becoming a republic. Thriving in her diversity and evolving into a force to be reckoned with.

"Bhogi Mantalu" - (translates to Bhogi fire)
Bhogi which is a Hindu Festival, celebrated on 14th Jan this year, is the first day of Pongal - the harvest festival and is celebrated in honor of Lord Indra, "the God of Clouds and Rains". Lord Indra is worshiped for the abundance of harvest, thereby bringing plenty and prosperity to the land.

This picture was taken at the fire we had lit up at 5:00 AM in the wintery cold to celebrate the festival!
