the birds

flickr mixer in Paris, with Cass D. and her wonderful husband Hanno -- who has the good sense to not spend his life being consumed by the sound of a flickring shutter release! This is their daughter, with our little c, transfixed by pigeons and a chocolate brownie that Hanno conjured up out of nowhere to appease some growling toddler bellies!

There's nothing more fascinating than a pigeon, apparently.

Or, in the pigeon's case, there's nothing more fascinating that two kids with chocolate brownies to share.

And, by the way, how did you do this? In every single one of my pictures from under the Eiffel Tower there are just crowds of people doing their damnest to totally ruin my photo... Where have they all gone? Did you clone everyone out or have just got a very good shooing technique?

Anyway, I like your perspective on this - there was me desperately trying to get them both to look at me for a kind of frontal view when, actually, the fun part was watching them watching the pigeons which is what you've captured. Mind you, with my lens, I'd have had to have been half way up the Tower to get this view ;-)

@ Cass -- That's why I encouraged you to get a 50mm, so you would have to stand in line! Caro has always told me that portrait photography wasn't really my bag, which is why I've been particularly excited about getting a good wide angle. (She's right, I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining.) I suspect my feet weren't far from that bottom bird.
