Chacma baboon caught running across the patch of grass at the Kruger Gate, Kruger National Park. A couple of them were playing on Oom Paul's statue when this one dropped down and started running to the other side of the bridge. It looks quite guilty, don't you think?

Resting in the shade after what seemed an unsuccessful hunting attempt. When we came upon this female and her almost fully-grown cub it seemed as though she was trying to hunt impala, and though there was no intentional interruption of this attempt she did not pursue the matter. I cannot help but wonder to what extent unsuccessful attempts at hunting can be attributed to the presence of vehicles (i.e. humans). Kruger National Park

Cheetah, Leeupan, Kruger National Park

We visit the Kruger National Park very frequently, but in the past 21 years have seen cheetah only once before - approximately 19 years ago Willie tells me though I cannot even remember it. Thus we were thrilled when when we came across this female and her almost adult son this past weekend. What made the sighting especially nice was that they were in open terrain and quite close to our vehicle.
