Midnight Sun

Midnight Sun

This photograph is taken when the sun went just below the horizon, only to come back up a few minutes later. This is basically as dark as it gets up in northern Sweden for a couple of weeks around June - July.

Have a look at another photo from this sunset.

My cousin and I went up on a small mountain and captured this spectacular landscape a few years ago. I haven't been able to upload the photo because... I haven't been able to put it all together. Neither of our gaming rig-PCs could handle the sheer amount of pixels. That said, with a touch of 2011 Apple technology - it finally came to life!

This, then, is a 3-step HDR panorama with 14 photos in width. In other words, you're looking at a photograph that took 42 exposures to create. All, while mozzies ate us alive.

Sheds

Sheds

There's so many places in this photograph my dad has told me stories about. Every shed, every corner of the field... There are so many stories from one location - do you have a place like this? Where you have an almost unlimited amount of memories?

This is a 3-step HDR panorama with 7 photos in width. So, all in all, I took 21 photos to create this one. Good stuff.

Anyhow, this is one of my favourite photographs to use as a desktop wallpaper. Head over to the full resolution and try it yourself if you like!

Midnight Sun

Midnight Sun

This is a photo I took a while back, but I never uploaded it. So here it is!

It's an amazing view every single night (when it's not cloudy, obviously) in summer up in northern Sweden. The sun never goes down, it just touches the horizon and paints the sky with a beautiful orange/yellow colour.

So, what's over there - what are we looking at? Have a look.

Avalon Air Show 2011

Avalon Air Show 2011

The Avalon International Air Show is held every two years at Avalon Airport, which is sort of halfway in between Melbourne and Geelong in Australia.

At the show, there's lots of crazy people doing stunts with their planes - flying literally only meters away from each other. Best part? They keep doing this for three days.

Canon 7D with 135mm f/2.0 performed and worked beautifully at the air show. The 135mm's original lens hood managed to control flares very well. I took more than one thousand photos that day, and only about five had actual issues with light coming from the side. And, mind you, those five were aimed very close to the sun itself. I didn't want to carry around on all of my lenses all day, so sticking with one lens - the 135mm - worked out well.

Pako Festa

Pako Festa

Pako Festa,
The Largest Multicultural Event In Australia

This whole event, the parade, the people, the costumes and the food... Everything adds up to be one special event. It was incredible to see so many different cultures presented in a respectable way.

And yes, Greek "Lamb Souvlaki" tastes great.
