Sunrise...finally

Sunrise...finally

3/4/12 - 64/366

The kitty's shots have to happen twice a day; around 6:30...which means this time of year, I'm missing the sunrise and the sunset. Which could also be influencing my recent lack of motivation when I seem to be stuck inside during the best time of the day. But on this day, my hubby sent me out and took care of the rest. (Which he does often, but it still makes me feel guilty to leave him to it when he has to do it all each time I travel....)

68 A Snow Surprise

68 A Snow Surprise

3/8/12 - 68/366

Waking up to a surprise snowfall which had me dashing through the getting-ready-for-work process and out the door with camera in hand. And with plenty of time to discover a little bit of country winter charm before it disappeared with the late morning sun.

66 Slip, slip, sliding

3/6/12 - 66/366

There's something eye catching about slides; more so when they're so conveniently twisted.

65 Hanging On

3/5/12 - 65/366

The downy woodpecker making a late winter appearance to the feeder. Although, I think he missed the feeder by a few feet....

A Day at the Zoo

A Day at the Zoo

67/366 A filler for 3/7 from 1/6...because the 7th completely got away from me

I've always found myself torn about zoos. To love them or hate them. The boxes, the cages, the captivity. The demoralization of a feral animal. But then again...they could be the inspiration for our future conservationists.

I spent a long time stalking this particular exhibit. And watched the polar bear exhaust himself leaping from the rocks, diving into the water, surfacing at the glass and launching backwards for another trip to the rocks and a repeat performance to the total joy of the children (even the adult versions). And this moment, here, seemed to say it all...because maybe, the man who helps to save a way of life was the boy who once held a polar bear in his hand.
