UPDATE: Made it on to Explore #5 on 8th September 2012 - Thanks to all who viewed, commented and faved. It means a lot. :-)

I have been looking forward to the first mists of Autumn for some time now as we have had such a poor summer. There was a buzz in the air from a few tog friends last night on various social networks sites and sure enough, I awoke to mist. I leapt out of bed like a child on Christmas morning and packed the gear in the car. I had a location and shot in mind at my local woods. Unfortunately the woods are at the top of a hill and as I arrived I drove out of the mist into brilliant sunshine. I cursed and quickly did a U-turn. I drive past this copse every day on my way to work and have been meaning to shoot it for some time; just waiting for the right conditions. I thought I would give it a go today; and was I glad that I did. This field is due to be harvested any day now, so I had to try and get something before it is gone. It really was quite magical to be out shooting early in the mist; fingers crossed for more fantastic photographic conditions as the season unfolds.

I'm very much a believer that an image is just a 2D capture of a 3D world but I can't help wanting to reach in here and feel that crop. I don't know how the texture is so appealing with such soft light but there you go. Instant fave

Bit of tease this one! Great lazy feel.
Curious to know your opinion on the step up from D90 to D800E and how it has benefited how you operate. Why the E option?

Nice one Paul, nice to see you went inland for the mist. Unfortunately I couldn't pull myself away from my pillow and got the car serviced instead.
