UPDATE: Made it on to Explore #52 on 19th February 2011 - Thanks to all who viewed, commented and faved. It means a lot. :-)

I am sure this b#gger has been following me for weeks ;-)

Sometimes images capture you, rather than they other way round. A trip down to Dorset last month gave rise to this image. Whilst I am busy shooting long exposures and waiting for the shutter to do 'its thing', it gives me chance to take in all the intricacies of what is unfolding in front of me. This is what I love about LE work; it really forces you to see and appreciate the moment. This was obviously not an LE image, but this lone cloud, slightly lower than the rest of the clouds whipped through the scene. I thought it would be interesting, but at the time was unsure how I was going to process it…………..This is the result.

Camera: Nikon D90
Lens: Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED at 32mm

One of my favourite locations and images just seem to fall into the camera here. I think the main reason for this, is that when I visit this location I am not 'worried' or 'stressed' with the need for getting an image and as such I am more chilled (being by the sea also helps with that element mind!!). I have found that if one is in a chilled state, it is far easier to 'see' the images; a form of karma if you will. Either way I love the place and I come away feeling refreshed and with some new images for the portfolio……….

Camera: Nikon D90
Lens: Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED at 45mm

This is one of those images that got some really strange looks from by-passers whilst capturing. The Life bouy was located at the top of some steps and as people walked up the steps they were greeted by a photographer with his camera mounted on a tripod, pointing at a life buoy………. If I had been dressed in a stripped suit with a ball and chain round the ankle, a straitjacket and a gimp mask, I would have gotten less strange looks………….. Mind you, it was Weston Super Mare ;-)

I guess some people aren't blessed/cursed with our vision :-)

The Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare. I have shot this many times, but rarely come away with an image I am pleased with. Due to the flat lighting conditions, this trip turned out to be quite productive.
