Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited the 9/11 memorial in New York
City’s Lower Manhattan, to offer his respects to those who were killed
in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Mr. Ban placed white
roses at the “survivor tree”, a Callery pear tree nursed back to life
after rescue from the rubble at the site of the attacks.
