In Mae Hong Son province there are villages/refugee camps where you can go, pay an entrance fee and take a photo of a long neck woman...

Take some time and read this article

Or watch

This photo was taken @Red Karen camp and seems like the only touch of reality there.

Im going along with the theme of kids first so here is one boy from Koh Lanta.

Shooting in villages or towns was much easier than among the tribes. People (especially parents) want you to take a photo of them/their kid. In comparison, most of the tribal people believe that a photograph takes away a piece of their soul. So elders or ill people would generally avoid having their photo taken.
And you know what, its not my place, its not my land and I felt a lot of respect to them so if they didnt want it I didnt take it. My 'street photography' attitude (something like chasing grannies on the streets to capture them) just simply went away. Sometimes you gotta know when to stop.

There are two villages North from Mae Hong Son, both beside the road which leads to Mae Aw

Im looking at a map we got from the place we rented our bikes from and as it was clear and I knew the names of the villages when I was there now it seems like they dissappeared from the map.

If anyone knows, please tell me.

Akha kid

Akha kid

Ok, so we are back and I have way too many photos to work on and upload! So firstly those with almost no editing on them.

This is a kid from Akha tribe in Northern Thailand. One of our guides during the trekking trip was also Akha so it was really cool to get some rituals explained and translate for us.

One funny moment was when I was running around and chasing a little girl which was suppose to be a game... My niece loves it anyway. However, the little girl was shouting something that I couldnt understand. When I asked our guide he said it was 'Why?! Why?! Why me?!' lol
