~ The Last Breath ~

My perception of life finally slipping away.

Taken with Canon EOS 20D over 15secs, using a colour-changing LED torch. Had to stay very still while wafting it around with my right hand.

For those who are inquisitive, it took around 30 shots to get the one I wanted. In total, around 2 hours from start to finish (incl editing).

I feel you a reasonable, "dry" sensibility in this photograph.

I thought it was a nice photo with some handy Photoshoping. Then I read the description and suddenly it becomes a great photo. To have got those wisps of coloured life so right is amazing. That it is a self-portrait is even more so.

Amazing. Is this something you just set up and shoot or does it take you tons of trial and error? Please say the later.

most intriguing, and powerful...can't believe you used yourself as a model...not only for the content, but because of the technical difficulty. Bravo....

Was it really your right hand? It looks like the torch was dipping behind your head (to your left).

Excellent effect, but doesn't match the "from BELOW" concept. (sorry!)

holy schnikeys! I am very impressed. Way to go on an awesome image that I could have sworn was a manipulation of some sort untill I read the description!

What a great concept!! Apparently a newly deceased person is around 21g lighter than they were a few seconds earlier before death!! Maybe those spectral emissions are where that mass mysteriously dissapears too?!!
