Nice portrait but not for the Safe, I
think--whites are blown on the muzzle, color
is a little flat, and I think the framing is
a little too tight. Love the goaty smile,
though. I love goats.
I really like the compo, that you got right
up close, the way he's looking at the camera
out of the side of his eye all
suspicious-like. You caught some real
character in his face. I just think the shot
is too contrasty -- that shadow on the right
really distracts.
A little too tight on the crop here (ear
even). Otherwise a good photo with a great
expression. Sorry but because of the ear lopping -voted as "deleteme" (from Deleteme! group)
Framing is SUCH a matter of taste. I think
the tight framing here gives a real sense of
"presence". The "smug"
smile is pretty amusing. Very good, but not
great.
well, i must say, i love goats. but the
flash created a sense that the head is
floating (i think someone said that
already...) and i don't like the shadows. i like the crop, less shadow woul dhave
helped.

it certainly looks like a flash to me. if
not, you should take the comment as a genuine
comment on the lighting in your image, and
learn from it. just some friendly advice.
i'll give you your third tag on this one.
The expression on the goat is really quite
funny. Almost as if he is saying,'i know
something you dont buster.' Are you sure he
didnt just stick a note on your back
saying,'kick me?'
Nice pic matey! Lovely lighting, and crop.
Just reading the comments above, always makes
me chuckle when people say what is missing
from a shot in regards to a crop/edge of
shot. I would like your photo more if there
was a chimp waterskiing in the backround! :)

Lack of shadow detail gives the goat a disembodied look. Nice portrait and I also like goats . Not worthy of the safe though.

youpi I hope you understand your comment but it doesn't help me.

The yellow background on the left, should either be gone or be on both sides of the goat. Now it's really disturbing.
Still it's one of the most interesting goat portraits I've seen so far.

The yellow background on the left is the goat. He would find it hard to be on both sides.

Haha, I need some glasses. It's because of the different colour I guess. I thought it was another animal. Then the goat should sit down ;)

The detail is good, but Sophie named my problems with it. The ear and and beard are cut off, and the lighting is questionable.

Nobody used a flash in taking this picture, not me and not the goat.
I don't get this group sometimes.
Thanks everyone for another 10-0 vote, I'm getting quite a collection.
