CW Seashore Sundress

    Newer Older

I had done the Ottobre version before and loved the results (of course, it was a 3-hands sewing but I was still very impressed with the outcome www.flickr.com/photos/35195588@N05/5675629810/) and after seeing so many lovely creations on the Flickr group I decided to get this pattern as well ;-)

I've been stashing on CW prints for some summer sewing (which really isn't working this year with so little sewing time) so this was an easy choice.

Nevertheless, Miss M wasn't impressed with my sewing efforts (!). "It's blue, mum!" (check the pink dress behind and you can see where her heart belongs).

After she tried it on, she was conquered! This "clever" sundress pattern has hidden pockets (tiny pockets for tiny hands)! Cool, right? (Especially if you're a toddler)
    Thank you O+S!!

Love the Seashore dress in the CW print! So Sweet, even if it's in your fav color and not hers.:)

      Thank you!
      I love it too ;-)

      I know, I know!!
I'm slowly incorporating more pink on her wardrobe. Yet, I'm still the one doing most of the fabric shopping around here and I can't help myself!!

Oh no! she's a pink girl? My daughter would have the same expressive reaction too. I have to say despite the colour being "wrong" she looks pretty happy to have her photo taken in this dress. I love this print and have been wondering how it could be used - it works really well on the seashore dress.

My daughter's favorite color JUST switched when she turned 6... Hang in there. She does look so beautiful in pink, though, and also in the blue. Just got this pattern for both my girls. Didn't know about the secret pockets... Oh lala!

Just made my daughter a brown popover sundress and she turned her nose up - even though it has cute little elephants on it! Looking forward to making this sundress up soon!

      Thank you, Tamara!
I really can't take credit for her loving the dress (her initial reaction was a bit shy, to say the least). The hidden pockets did the trick ;-)

      Thank you, Cate!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I have to admit it it's not that bad (I love pink as well, just not everything pink, all the time, eheheh). I do sew a lot more with neutrals and blues (pink has been a recent introduction so I suppose I can manage it).
I'm pretty sure M will love the pockets (G will probably have a lot fun also)! Can't wait to see your versions (a mini seashore sundresse look yummy already...)

      Thank you, MC!
      I also think so ;-)

Sometimes kids surprise us, don't they? Aren't elephants suppose to be cute and fun?

Thank you, Nicole ! (but to be honest, it's already so hot in here that sometimes I wish fall could come sooner...)

Did you see I made a dress inspired by this one?

Oh! I haven't seen it yet (just got back from a 3-days work assignment).
      I'll check it :-)
