Pentax K100D

After much research and reading, I made my decision against the Nikon and went for the Pentax. So far, I am very happy.

Your alternative was, what, the D200?

At the time, the Nikon D40 was the alternative. Since this uses the D40 sensor and has half a dozen extras that the Nikon didn't have, it seemed obvious. carlbach.blogspot.com/2007/03/pentax-k100d-re view.html
Plus, I prefer AA's to battery packs. I get about 800 shots out of 4 AA rechargeables.

Makes sense to me. Unfortunately, I bought my D70 well before Pentax started making prosumer dSLRs. My long and enjoyable time spent with a Spotamatic F definitely biased me infavour of Pentax. I'm glad the K100D is treating you well.

The D70 and D50 were serious contenders as I have some Nikon stuff already, but we will see what the future brings. I love toys and need some time to come up with the next excuse why I NEED a new camera.
