Enhanced Photo Of Mars

One of the first false-colour photos from the Phoenix lander which I enhanced to stretch out the colours and contrast a bit.

Notice the very clear "polygons". Here in the Martian Arctic there is probably water ice underneath the red soil, and in the winter this area is I think covered in carbon-dioxide snow.

(The original is a non-copyrighted NASA photo. The creative-commons license only applies to my modifications.)

Their original was really washed-out, haha, so to speak. They must have been in a hurry. Did you see the 3D photo of the landing pad? (on flickr) It looks a bit like mud by where the pad depressed the soil.

It does make U wonder why those 15' Polygons were created in that kinda consistent Pattern across that part o the Planet*

      Crop Circles??

Apparently this sort of Patterned Ground with polygons also occurs in permafrost areas on Earth, which adds credence to the hypothesis that there is water ice in the ground where the Phoenix has landed.
