Turkey Vulture

    One of the many birds of prey that hover near our house in San Mateo on the San Francisco Peninsula. Thanks to Anitia for identifying this as a Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) and not a hawk as I assumed. [IMG_0420-hawk]

      Not actually a hawk, but a Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura). Perhaps not as exciting, but still a big, impressive bird.
