The latest variation is that at a taqueria this week my name was written down as Herman. (Which sounds pretty close when said in Spanish.)
Oh well, maybe Eamonn's – A Dublin Chipper near DC will go national and people will learn how to spell my name.

Yep, I am afread to say that when they see it written down I think people here are likely to say something like MAY-reed or MOY-reed instead of ma-RAYD.
