Inch worm

Inch worm

Any ID help appreciated! I don't have any experience ID'ing these cute caterpillars and have no dichotimous keys for them.

This little one was crawling all over the lichen on a tree. As I recall it was an oak tree.

Visited

Looking at the flower I noticed the clump of pollen on the inner cup, a sign this one had been visited recently b one of our garden's industrious pollenators (likely a bumble bee).

But I am posting it now in celebration that our neighbor (a business) was clearly visited as well. He abruptly changed his mind about tearing out all the gardens on the border between the property we rent and his property so he can put up a fence and larger bandstand. We had a verbal agreement with the original neighbor (who is still majority owner of the business) We called our landlord and the original neighbor and clearly one of them "visited" the current manager and let him know both that his new plans were…unacceptable (not to mention violations of city code)

Auld Jock's Steak Pie!

Auld Jock's Steak Pie!

It's a good thing Auld Jock's is so far away. This was a delicious and hearty lunch on a cold rainy Edinburgh day. Gotta find a good recipe for making it at home.

Bleeding Hearts

Bleeding Hearts

Both Tammy and I love bleeding hearts, easily one of our favorite flowering bushes. Even though it's not native to the United States (Originally from Japan, though there are Dicentra species native to the East Coast of North America.). These blooms are from the bush we planted when we first moved inot this place some 4 years ago now. I wanted to capture the fog/dew drops on the white part of the petal.
