The freighter Riverdance was hit by a giant wave during severe gales in the Irish Sea. The cargo shifted and the ship was in danger of capsizing. RAF and RN helicopters managed to get crew and passengers off safely in "atrocious conditions". Riverdance now lies beached on the Lancashire coast, making it Blackpools most recent tourist attraction ;-)
