A couple of shots from Brookdale conservation site as I was exploring the effect of the drought on the Kiswaukee river (Clearwater river). This Bull Frog is sitting on a rock that usually is about 1 foot below the surface. It was a nice sized one, about 9 inches long and 5 inches across, I was careful not to disturb it.

I like the wide crop here Dave. And nice how the frog, water and dirt/rock(?) are all the same tone. Sweet shooting my friend :)

The water levels on all of the ponds, lakes, streams and rivers around here are hurting bad!
Really a cool shot, Dave.

What a nice picture, congratulations for being on Flickr Explore today. Thanks a lot for sharing your work and keep it up! Sometimes photography can frustate ourselves because it is very difficult to get some recognition for our work, but it feels great when we do, don't you think? Cheers from Spain.

I was documenting the drought in pictures all summer, the effects were best seen at Three Oaks Recreation Area and at Pleasant Valley, where the creek and marshes have just about completely disappeared. The prairie plants however, have taken it all in stride.
