1932 - 2011

1932 - 2011

My Dad died yesterday. Lung Cancer Killed him in a horrible way.
This is a picture taken in 1980 when he was still healthy and I was still a kid. He requested we find this and remember him this way.
As you may guess, this is the main reason I haven't been around for a while. I would not be the person, for better or worse, I am today without him and I was blessed to have him there for me for over 50 years. Now it is his turn to get some peace.
God has his soul and is keeping him in his grace and I, and my family have the memories.
I did not loose my father, he is always with me and part of me.
Thank you for everything, big and little, you gave me, taught me and showed me Dad. I am where and who I am because of you.
Thank you to all my flickr friends, you support is truly appreciated.

Fairway and Yerkes

Fairway and Yerkes

Still more from Big Foot CC.. this is the view from one of the fairways looking toward Geneva Lake. Straight ahead you can see historic Yerkes Observatory. Yes, my camera is level, the fairway is what is tipped.

Long View

Long View

Still more from Big Foot CC.. this is the view from one of the fairways looking toward Geneva Lake. Off to the left you can see historic Yerkes Observatory. This was a little difficult to set up my tripod for. As you can see the hill is quite steep... but I'm sure the golfers like the ball rolling back to the fairway here.

Downhill Lie

Downhill Lie

This hole really does look like a challenge and I am not a golfer. When I walked up to the green I was not able to find any level area...

Cedar and Birch

Cedar and Birch

As I have said, there are streams tucked in all around the course and some of the more interesting features are tucked into out of the way places. I wonder how many members even see these beautiful little scenes.
