Wawona Bridge, Yosemite National Park
Covered bridges have a strong romantic image, probably due in no small part to Robert James Waller's book "The Bridges of Madison County" and Clint Eastwood's portrayal of the NG photographer in the movie - I'm told it spurned a boom in collecting Nikon F cameras! Finding a location that didn't place the bridge square on to the scene was a bit of a challenge, in the end had to exploit the capabilities of a wide angle to get the composition I was after. The Nikon 16-35mm has a pronounced vignetting when at its widest, however, in this case I've chosen not to correct that in post processing, rather liking the effect.

Great use of a exposure to highlight this this wonderful composition. The gray-tones are rich with texture! We went across this bridge for the first time two weeks ago when we attended a wedding in the park. You've this Historic structure with style Iain.

Wonderful image Iain. The camera positioning makes for a fine composition. Scenes like this are a bit busy and so finding the right composition can be a challenge. Very nicely done. The planks of wood look fantastic.
